Caring for our Community
The older people in the local community are very important to Triple C and our aims as a charity.
The older generation form a large part of the community in Norris Green and surrounding areas.
Often isolated and at risk from suffering with depression, this core group of residents need to feel
secure & have an enhanced quality of life.
The Older Person’s Community Worker, Alison Barrowcliffe, organizes regular community activities/groups in the local Church halls (see table above). Look out for one-off events, such as health days, sing-a-long afternoons and the very successful ‘Intergenerational Project’ (breaking down barriers & building understanding between the youth & older generation in our community), The groups we hold offer local residents somewhere they can join in with activities whilst meeting up with friends; they will feel safe & welcome & maybe make some new friends too!
Alison organizes events & trips throughout the year. These are well attended, most selling out within days of advertising them! We are pleased to be able to provide this service to our local community, we have many volunteers who assist with the groups and trips & they certainly have a positive effect on the service we provide.
If you know of anyone that you think could benefit from any of these services please get in touch.
